Carnival Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of all cruises in North America through June 26, 2020, with cruises commencing on June 27.

Carnival Cruise Line Cancels Further Sailings

The Miami-based cruise line is extending its pause on cruise operations through June 26 impacting all cruises in North America. The first embarkations are then set to begin on June 27 as long as there aren’t any additional cancellations.

The cruise line is also canceling the seasonal itineraries out of New York for the Carnival Sunrise and this will be through to the end of 2020 impacting summer adn fall cruises. Carnival posted the following notice on Facebook:

This comes as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), announced an extension of its “No Sail Order” to all vessels under its jurisdiction including the majority of Carnival cruise ships. Included in the announcement which you can read here included new measures for cruise ships. It was expected Carnival would make an announcement after it stated it was evaluating the situation and the new updates from the CDC.

The cruise line will now focus on its crew members by working on getting non-essential crew back to their home countries. At the moment crew is being transferred to arranged charter flights. With major travel restrictions around the world, it is proving to be a difficult and expensive task not just for Carnival but for other cruise lines too.
