Carnival Cruise Line has announced it’s canceling additional sailings impacting Alaska and Europe.
Carnival Cancels Additional Sailings
The cruise line has decided to cancel even more cruises in addition to its recent extension of suspended cruise operations through May 11, 2020. The additional cancellations impact the Carnival Radiance’s inaugural season, Carnival Legend sailings, All cruises to Alaska and all sailings from San Francisco.
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said:
“We share our guests’ disappointment in this necessary action, as this group of sailings included a number of unique itineraries and the introduction of new ships, homeports and destinations to our network.”
“Our team has been hard at work making plans for these voyages for over a year and the strong response by our guests suggests tremendous enthusiasm for these offerings which we hope to bring back at the right time.”
The Alaska sailings through and including June 30, 2020 departure have all been canceled and that’sd largely due to the Candian government’s decision to cancel the cruising season. Carnival Miracle’s San Francisco season has also been cancelled through 2020. Here’s what the cruise line posted:
- All Alaska sailings through and including June 30, 2020;
- All San Francisco sailings through 2020;
- All Carnival Radiance sailings through and including November 1, 2020;
- All Carnival Legend sailings through and including October 30, 2020.
With Carnival’s offices in great Miami closed due to the current situation in the United States the customer service process has been automated and a form can be used to fill in online in emails sent by the cruise line.
Carnival Legend was scheduled to begin a season in Europe starting from Dover, UK on June 19. The Spirit-class vessel is scheduled to begin sailing from Tampa on November 15 which is so far still set to go ahead. Carnival Radiance was also set to kick off its series of European cruises on April 29 after being transformed in Cadiz, Spain but of course, everything is now on hold and the ship has not yet completed its transformation.
The cruise line has been impacted heavily due to the health crisis and the entire fleet is now on hold. There is a relaxed cancellation policy in place and guests can also have confidence in rebooking to a later date.
