New Mardi Gras Video Series
Carnival has started the build-up to its largest ever cruise ship which will take the name Mardi Gras, just like the iconic one from 1972. The cruise line has launched a new behind the scenes video series which showcases innovations and an sight all about the new vessel.
The series will consist of eight episodes and are hosted by Carnival’s brand ambassador John Heald and the cruise director for Mardi Gras who is one of the most entertaining in the fleet Matt Mitcham. They will take viewers on a journey from the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland all the way to exclusive venues such as the one by famed chef Emeril Lagasse and of course the first-ever roller coaster at sea.
Let’s take a look at the very first episode which launched today:
In the first episode, Heald and Mitchan take a look at the original Mardi Gras cruise ship which was launched in 1972. They take a look at Carnival’s TV ads, the first cruise line at the time and there is even a special cameo by Mr. Arison himself!
Mardi Gras is set to debut in November 2020 and sail Caribbean cruises out of the new Carnival terminal at Port Canaveral, Florida. The ship will be 180,000 gross tons and introduce new features and concepts to the industry including the BOLT roller coaster.
