As Carnival Cruise Line prepares to resume cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas out of U.S. ports, a few Carnival cruise ships will begin arriving in Florida.

Carnival Horizon is arriving in Miami this week with Carnival Breeze expected to be the next Carnival ship back.

16 different Carnival cruise ships are currently following the CDC’s process for returning to service in the first quarter of 2021.  Carnival currently has all cruises canceled through January 31, 2021.

Carnival will focus on resuming cruises out of Miami and Port Canaveral first with cruises out of Galveston, Texas following right behind.

All other Carnival cruises out of U.S. ports will follow after these three ports.

Carnival Cruise Line is planning a staggered return to cruising.  Four cruise ships (Magic, Paradise, Valor, and Radiance) that have a scheduled dry dock for maintenance and upgrades will not return to service until after the work has been completed.

It is still too early to tell exactly when Carnival Cruise Line will resume passenger operations out of U.S. ports. Carnival will be allowed to return to service when the CDC approves of their new health and safety measures.

During the cruise shutdown, Carnival Cruise Line sold four of their older, less efficient cruise ships. The ships sold were Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Imagination, and Carnival Fascination.

The cruise line expects their newest and largest ship, Mardi Gras, to complete construction in early 2021 and join the fleet soon after.  Mardi Gras will be the world’s first cruise ship with a roller coaster.
