Quantum of the Seas Begins Cruises

We already reported on Cruise Hive that the big day was approaching for Quantum of the Seas, that day has finally arrived. The Royal Caribbean vessel departed the Singapore port today launching 3- and 4-night sailings.

The cruises won’t feature any port of calls and the ship will remain at sea. It will be a great way for guests to enjoy all those impressive features of the Quantum-class cruise ship including the North Star, SeaPlex, Two70 and more. These new cruises will only be available for Singapore residents.

Quantum of the Seas Trial Sailings

This new series of sailings to nowhere for the next four months will be an important step in resuming operations around the world. New health protocols can be tested and refined. this will be easier to manage with one ship at first.

  • All guests will need to take a COVID-19 test 24-72 hours before sailing.
  • Guests will need to have the Tracetogether App on their phone or collected a TraceTogether token, both of which are contact- tracing methods from the Singapore government.
  • Guests will need to check-in at their appointed times, and they will be screened again during check-in.
  • There will be enhanced sanitation and social distancing onboard.

Royal Caribbean has been working hard on implementing new health measures in-line with local authorities. Requirements have been followed including the CruiseSafe Certification standards which all cruise lines must obtain before cruising out of Singapore.
