Enjoy Fun-Filled Adventure on a Family Vacation Cruise

Enjoy Fun-Filled Adventure on a Family Vacation Cruise

Cruises aren’t only for romance, adults, and college kids.
You can take your entire family on a cruise and have just as much fun as you would on any vacation. Many cruise ships today offer family cruise packages with fun stuff for kids and a good, clean atmosphere for the entire family. These usually don’t have the typical “partying” atmosphere as many spring break cruises and cruises for adults only. Let’s see what family vacation cruises have to offer.

Cruisin’ with the Kids

Kids might find a normal cruise boring, but with family cruises, there’s a long list of things to do. A cruise that caters to families and kids will allow you to have a great time without having to constantly come up with ways to entertain the kids. There are swimming pools with special kiddie stuff such as water slides or water games, video arcades, on-board games for kids of all ages such as shipboard Olympics, pizza parties, miniature golf, magic shows, sports, concerts, fun educational projects, and more. Some cruises have family-friendly movies and skating. Many offer on-shore kids’ adventures and tours to enjoy as you reach each destination.

Where to Go

A tough decision to make is where to go on a family vacation cruise. Some places are just not suitable for families. They might have too much of a party type atmosphere catering to couples or single young adults. Some places are just too boring for the family to enjoy. Compare cruise offerings to find a destination that caters to families with attractions such as zoos, children’s museums, amusement parks, water parks, tours of historic sites, or family fun centers. Teens might enjoy more adventurous activities such as snorkeling, parasailing, and hiking. When you exit the boat, you can pick and choose among several attractions to make the whole family happy.

Some great cruise destinations for families include Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida (with Disney Cruises), islands of the Caribbean, Hawaii, California, and Alaska. European cruises are also great for families, allowing you to explore interesting sites in Europe by sea and land.

A Break for Parents

One luxury you’ll enjoy on a family cruise is you can take breaks from the kids occasionally. They can enjoy supervised games and activities while you relax in the Jacuzzi, enjoy a romantic dinner, try out a casino, or just sunbathe by the pool. Many cruises have a trained youth staff for various age groups to direct the children’s activities. A schedule of kid’s activities is provided so parents and kids will know how to plan each day.

Find the Perfect Family Cruise

Family cruises are easy to book using the Internet. Check out some of the main cruise lines to find out what they offer and what destinations are available. Some of the most popular are Disney Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess, Norwegian Cruise Line, Crystal Cruises, and Costa Cruise Lines. You can easily choose a cruise package that will fit your family’s budget. But be sure to book a cruise that offers activities your family will enjoy. It should be a vacation to please everyone.

Some online resources to book a family cruise are Travelocity, Expedia, Travelzoo, and Orbitz. You can usually get discounted tickets by securing an all-inclusive family cruise package. An all-inclusive cruise will include meals, lodging, transportation, and some forms of entertainment. Be sure to find out what’s included and what’s not so you’ll know how to plan financially for the trip.

If your family vacations seem a little drab lately, a family cruise can provide the new, thrilling adventure your family has been longing for!

Each year, a large number of individuals make the decision to book a cruise ship getaway. When it comes to vacationing aboard a cruise ship, you are presented with an unlimited number of options. There are a large number of cruise lines that operate numerous cruise ships. In fact, there are so many cruise ships available that many individuals, maybe even yourself included, do not know where to start.

The first step in planning a cruise ship vacation is making the decision to take one. Traveling aboard a cruise ship can be a fun and exciting experience, but it is not for everyone. Cruises ships often require residing in close corridors for an extend period of time. If you have a difficult time dealing with crowds or you are looking for an overnight vacation, you may want to reexamine your decision to schedule a cruise ship vacation.

If you have already decided that a cruise ship vacation is what you want, you will need to find a cruise ship that interests you. This is where many individuals develop a problem. As previously mentioned, there are a number of different cruise lines. Each of these cruises lines operates a number of different cruise ships. Each cruise ship is likely to travel to different destinations and offer different activities, services, and facilities.

When searching for the perfect cruise ship, you have numerous options. Many travelers automatically start searching for the cruise ship of their dreams. Searching for a cruise ship is, in a way, different than searching for a cruise line. If you do not have a preference as to which cruise ship line you’d like to travel with, it may be easier to search for cruises based on themes, destinations, or onboard activities. A standard internet search is a great way to educate yourself on the cruise ships available.

If you prefer to travel with a specific cruise line, you will want to research that particular cruise line. You can visit the cruise line’s online website to further educate yourself or else you can perform a standard internet search. If you are unaware of the cruise line selection you have, you can easily familiarize yourself. There are a number of travel websites that offer information and links to the websites of popular cruise lines. Performing an internet search with the keywords “cruise lines,” is likely to produce a large number of results.

In your search, it is likely that you will come up with popular cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruse Lines, Disney Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, and much more. Once you are able to view the online website of each cruise line, you can begin to search for cruise ships with reservations still available. When browsing through each cruise ship, you will likely be presented with standard information. This information may outline the activities available onboard, destinations, travel stops, and the cost of reserving a cabin.

The Disney Cruise Line is one of the most well-known and sought after cruise lines for individuals vacationing with a family. If you are interested in scheduling a Disney cruise, you will see that the two cruise ships used are named Disney Wonder and Disney Magic. Each ship has onboard Disney characters and beautiful décor. The main differences between the two ships are the character statues found onboard.

Carnival Cruise Lines is well-known among frequent travelers. They offer a wide range of cruises; however, their main focus seems to be on “fun” cruises. When researching Carnival Cruise Lines, you will see that they have over 20 “fun” ships. These ships target cruise goers who are interested in socializing, partying, and having an adventure over the water. Popular cruise ships include, but are not limited to Fantasy, Ecstasy, Celebration Fascination, and Sensation.

Royal Caribbean is another one of the many well-known cruise lines in the world. They are famous for their international cruises. Just a few of their many cruise ships include Adventure of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, and Navigator of the Seas. With twenty-one cruise ships, you are sure to find what you are looking for with Royal Caribbean

Researching each cruise line and cruise ships, individually, may take time. If you are pressed for time you can seek the assistance of a travel agent. Whichever method of research you select, research is important. It is the best way to find the perfect cruise ship for you and your family.

Also, you can combine different trips together to make as short or as long and as varied an experience as you would like. With three international offices, and many guides that hold advances degrees in archaeology and history, you will find whatever cultural or language specific accommodations that you seek.

Costa Rica Fishing – A Great Sport For The Whole Family

Costa Rica Fishing – A Great Sport For The Whole Family

Why should you think about Costa Rica for your next vacation?
There is question that holds many answers, but here are just a few of the key points.
1. The large choice of things for you and your family to do in such a small area. Eco tours, fishing, swimming, surfing, mountain climbing, camping, hiking, volcanoes, scuba diving, snorkeling, cruises, wildlife, plant life, and the list just goes on.
2. Costa Rica is affordable if you plan ahead for your vacation.
3. The people in the country most always are very friendly to foreigners and tourists. They will do almost anything to win your friendship or help you out. Yes, Spanish is the main language spoken here but if you have a little translation dictionary, or one of those new electronic devices by Casio or Franklin you won’t have a problem. There is usually always someone near by to help you with Spanish, and more than likely they will speak your language fluently also.
4. Car rental is reasonable, but for those that really want to get to know the country I recommend using a bus. Yes, I know it sounds wild, but it can be a lot of fun and you will meet some interesting people. You can travel for hours going through the mountains or along the Pacific Coast and only spend $2 or so for the fare.
5.
Costa Rica is a very safe place for your family also.
How much can you expect to spend for a Costa Rica Fishing Vacation?
Obviously that depends on many things like the type place you wish to sleep, where you choose to eat, and the type of transportation you use while here. When it comes the cost of the actual fishing trip itself, well they can range from $200 for a half day, up to $6,000 for a week if you really want the best of everything including lodging, food, and transportation for your whole family.
Keep in mind that if you’re a penny pincher, you could spend a week here fishing, surfing, and swimming with lodging food and all for less than $1,000. Now that is hard to find somewhere else. Costa Rica has what your looking for, now all you have to do is grab your sun screen, pack some bags, bring a camera, and plan to have a great time.

Luxury Beyond Measure: NCL Garden Villas Top 5,000 Square Feet

by Roy Witman © 2006

When you hear the words “spacious cabin,” most people don’t imagine a 5,750 square-foot suite. But Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) did! Beginning with the Norwegian Dawn in 2002, NCL began creating Garden Villas aboard their most luxurious ships. Today, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Garden Villas still offer the largest accommodations at sea.

Private Staff

The primary goals of the Garden Villas are to offer guests privacy, luxury and pampering at every turn. Five butlers staff these suites in order to ensure every need is anticipated and met even before guests make requests. Guests have the direct phone numbers for the suite staff in order to call upon them night or day. Want your luggage packed or unpacked? Absolutely! Need help planning and hosting a party? But of course! Hoping to receive VIP tickets to events or private excursions? The butlers are there to make it happen.

The Accommodations

The Garden Villas include a master bedroom and two additional bedrooms, each with a private, luxury bathroom. Guests also have a whirlpool tub; large, plush beds with premium bedding and a dining area. The outside, multi-tiered sundeck features a Jacuzzi as well as luxurious deck furniture and ample space for entertaining up to 100 guests. Garden Villas also treat guests to multiple private balconies.

The Views

High atop Deck 14, the views are simply unmatched. Elegantly decorated, the Garden Villas offer a spacious living room with a panoramic ocean view, courtesy of floor-to-ceiling windows. In fact, panoramic views are featured throughout the suite, in every room from the master bedroom to the bathroom.

Awake to the sunrise dancing across the waves as you enjoy a made-to-order breakfast served at the time of your choosing. Then, at night, watch the lights glisten off the water right outside your bedroom, as you’re lulled to sleep by the rhythm of the sea. You’re even likely to spot dolphins playing in the ship’s wake or a massive whale as it crashes through the waves.

The Price

At $25,000 per week, you might assume these premium suites go uninhabited much of the time. Quite the contrary is true. As one of the most popular suites in the fleet, the Garden Villas are almost always filled on each voyage.

Families, family reunions, groups of friends, multiple families traveling together and those who simply want the best accommodations available have been known for occupying the Garden Villas.

The addition of Garden Villas aboard Star (2001, later retrofit with Garden Villas) and Jewel (2005) means there are only six of these suites in the entire NCL fleet. That puts them in even higher demand.

If you want the most luxurious accommodations available, cruise critics agree that Norwegian’s Garden Villas are your best option.
