This is the 5th time that the cruise line has been recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies since 2015. In 2020, 130 honorees were recognized spanning 21 countries and 51 industries with Royal Caribbean being the only honoree in the Leisure & Recreation industry.

Richard D. Fain, chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., gave the following statement: “At Royal Caribbean ethical values have helped make us into who we are. We value this honor and will work to demonstrate these core, ethical values day in and day out.”

Methodology & Scoring

Grounded in Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient, the World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment process includes more than 200 questions on culture, environmental and social practices, ethics and compliance activities, governance, diversity and initiatives to support a strong value chain.

The process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify the leading practices of organizations across industries and around the globe. Best practices and insights from the 2020 honorees will be released in a report and webcast in March and April of this year.

All companies that participate in the assessment process receive an Analytical Scorecard providing them a holistic assessment of where their programs stand against the demanding standards of leading companies.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is a global cruise vacation company that controls and operates four global cruise lines: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara and Silversea Cruises.

Royal Caribbean is also a 50% joint venture owner of the German brand TUI Cruises and a 49% shareholder in the Spanish brand Pullmantur Cruceros. Together these brands operate a combined total of 61 cruies ships with an additional 17 on order as of December 31, 2019.
